There’s a big difference between knowing something intellectually and feeling it. Even if we know we’re a valuable person, it means nothing if that’s not how we actually feel. Pain and trauma cause a disconnect between the mind, body and emotions, blocking us from feeling good about ourselves, detached from the natural flow of life.
The career, marriage, house and car are all in place, but something is still off. Horrible pain and trauma aren’t always necessary to know change is imminent. Sometimes the slow kill of living in mediocrity is worse. After the smoke clears and the failed quick fixes take their toll, there has to be another way.
This begs the question, how much is mental health worth? It’s disregarded by those who don’t find value in themselves but cherished by those who have found practical benefits in their life.
I asked three of our clients why they invest in their mental health. Fresh out of the Magnesphere Melvin replied “All of us want to live the best lives that we can, and our lives are run by our thoughts. If we can have clearer, more definite thoughts that we can believe in and act on, we will wind up living the best life that we can.” We went on to talk about how since he started coming to Inception he’s found a peace within he can tap into, even if he only has a minute to spare.
About an hour later Alyssa Deltorre, Miss United States, came out of the float suite and gave her answer with no hesitation. “It’s the only thing that will carry me through my entire life, no matter what. Even if your body goes out, you still have your mind. People who are handicapped still have their mind, and can still function, be successful and connect with other people. It all comes from the power of your mind”.
Later on in the day, I spoke with Nicole after she used the Infrared Sauna and received lymphatic drainage. She says her routine is a crucial part of her life, helping to regulate her nervous system and process past trauma.
A lifetime of false beliefs and misconceptions about yourself can really block you from moving forward in life. The therapies at Inception help you to remember who you actually are, which is a powerful and valuable piece of the whole. We’re here with firsthand experience to help guide you in the most efficient way possible, but it’s up to you to do the work.
